Your Europe Advice Witnesses a 46% Increase of Enquiries in 2019, with ‘Social Security’ Being Most Common Legal Topic

In 2019, Your Europe Advice (YEA) legal experts replied to 28,034 enquries recevied from EU citizens and businesses. The amount represents a 46% increase compared to the previous year, with ‘Social Security’ being the most enquired about legal topic.

ECAS has summarised key statistics and details of the enquiries received in 2019, which also provide valuable insight into the challenges EU citizens experience when exercising their Freedom of Movement rights. Based on the nature of enquiries, YEA has also provided recommendations for Member States on how to improve the interpretation and enforcement of relevant EU laws.
