Your Europe Advice (YEA) is an online EU advice service for the public on the EU rights of citizens and businesses that ECAS manages under contract with, and on behalf of, the European Commission.
YEA consists of a team of about 60 lawyers who cover all 24 official EU languages and are familiar both with EU law and national laws in all EU countries. The experts respond to the questions within 72 hours, free of charge and in the language chosen by the user. Enquiries may also be submitted via an online form (here). Every year the YEA experts answer around 21,000 enquiries.
Based on the 20,000 – 25,000 enquiries of citizens responded to in the previous year, ECAS develops a report that identifies key trends in obstacles to free movement. These trends provide useful information about the problems experienced by citizens and businesses who seek to exercise their right to free movement as well as policy recommendations for addressing the challenges.
