The #EUTakeTheInitiative Roadshow is heading to Vienna for its final event of the year! On this occasion we are organising a full-day interactive conference on the European Citizens’ Initiative and its reform. We hope to meet many of you interested in participatory democracy at the Haus der Europäischen Union on 13 December, 9:30-18:00.
We are welcoming representatives from the EU institutions and the civil society to take you through the new European Citizens’ Initiative reform as well as to share first-hand experiences of the tool. By way of a panel discussion, inspirational talks and interactive break-out sessions, we hope to bring you concrete and valuable information to help you take a step towards shaping Europe! The conference will be the opportunity to meet like-minded citizens involved in participatory democracy to discuss and share ideas and experiences of coordinating a successful European citizens’ initiative campaign – raising funds, building partnerships, promoting and raising awareness.
The event will gather György Schöpflin, Member of the European Parliament & Rapporteur on the European Citizens’ Initiative, and other representatives of NGOs, think tanks, civil society, and citizens for a day of learning, connecting and debating around the European Citizens’ Initiative.
ECAS’ Digital Democracy Manager Elisa Lironi and Digital Democracy Coordinator Flavio Grazian will be leading one of the afternoon sessions, entitled ‘How to draft an initiative’.
