ECI Day 2020 – what will the future hold for the European Citizens’ Initiative?

On 25 February 2020, the 9th edition of the ECI Day took place: ECI organisers, citizens, civil society organisations, researchers and policymakers got together to discuss the past present and future of the European Citizens’ Initiative, less than two months after the new regulation had come into application. Not only was there a fundamental discussion about the merits and limitations of the instrument, participants also debated and voted on a number of recommendations for improvement of this instrument…
