Call for Participants for a Training on EU Citizenship in Belgrade

29 January 2016

The European Citizen Action Service (ECAS) has launched a call for participants for a training course to promote European citizenship that will take place in Belgrade (Serbia) from the 2nd until the 10th of March 2016

The training is funded by the Education, Audio-visual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission, through the Erasmus+ programme, and it is organised by the Academic Society “Novi Beograd”.

This one-week training (see programme) aims to improve the competences of the participants in the fields of European citizenship, European awareness and active participation. More concretely, it aims to support the professional development of youth workers and leaders by equipping them with the right knowledge, skills and attitudes to organise and run activities at local, national or international level that aim to educate young people about the European Union, EU citizenship and opportunities for participation in political, economic and social life.

The training methodology will be based on non-formal education, experimental and intercultural learning with a strong emphasis on best practices sharing. Participants will be able to bring promotional material to present the work of their organisations. Two intercultural evenings and several presentations are specially foreseen in the programme for that purpose.

Participants’ profile:

We are looking for youth workers, youth leaders, project managers, volunteers in youth organisations, NGO/public sector staff working with youth, who are aged between 18 and 30 years and are actively involved in the work of the organisations.

Participants should be based in Belgium and travel from this country.

Financial conditions:

The organiser of the training will fully cover the accommodation costs, the meals and the programme materials for the selected participants.

Travel costs will also be covered up to 275 EUR per participant, in line with the Erasmus+ programme guidelines.

How to apply?

Interested participants should send their CV and a motivation letter to marta.pont@ecas.org explaining why they would like to take part in this training and what their expectations are about it. They should also clearly state their experience in the NGO sector.

ECAS will select a maximum of 2 participants.

The deadline for sending applications is the 5th of February 2016.
