Join us at the Forum Citoyenneté on 2 June!

31 May 2016

ECAS and the Your Europe Advice service will be giving direct legal advice at the second  Forum Citoyenneté at Université Populaire d’Anderlecht on Thursday 2 June between 9am and 20pm.

The Forum will provide information and advice on elections, citizenship and active civic and political participation of European citizens in Belgium. The participants will be able to go from one stand to another one where there will be organisations providing information to citizens about their European rights. EU citizens can also get individual advice on how to solve problems related to their EU rights, such as social security, residence and taxes. Everyone is invited to attend the Forum anytime from 9:30 to 20:30 at the Université Populaire in Anderlecht (Rue du Chimiste 34-36).

ECAS will be represented by the EU rights manager Zuzana Pundova who will inform citizens about the Your Europe Advice (YEA) service and its role in providing free legal advice on issues regarding free movement, residence, social security and other Single Market-related issues. She will be accompanied by a YEA legal expert Anthony Valcke who will be offering free legal advice on the spot.

The Citizenship Forum (Forum Citoyenneté) is part of the European project One-stop-shop for the political participation of mobile EU citizens and it is co-organised by Objectif – a Belgian association that works to promote rights equality. This second edition of the Citizenship Forum follows up the first successful forum which took place on February 4 at La Tentation and focused on informing citizens about the process for obtaining Belgian citizenship and about opportunities for political participation in a given host Member State.
