ECAS Gives Input for the Sustainability of EC-Funded Projects in Western Balkans and Turkey

28 January 2016

On 26-27 January representatives of the DG NEAR-funded Framework Partnership Agreement (FPAs) met in Brussels to discuss the sustainability of their actions and to formulate recommendations to DG NEAR for further support of the sustainability of project outcomes and regional network building. The conference, organized by the TACSO Regional Office, was attended by representatives of DG NEAR and 85 representatives of CSOs implementing 18 FPA projects in the Western Balkans and Turkey.

The sustainability overview and action plan for 2016-2017 of the Triple A for citizens, access to information, advice and active help project was presented by Kenan Hadzimusic, ECAS’ Senior Manager and lead coordinator of the project.

In the second part of the conference the Commission representatives were presented with recommendations for the future programming of the Civil Society Facility (CSF) assistance, so as to ensure the sustainability of the outcomes. ECAS stressed the importance of the reform in the rule of law negotiating chapter and specifically the access to justice component. It also emphasised the link between self-regulating mechanisms, such as internal quality standards of the Triple A network, and its long term sustainability.
