DEEP-Linking Youth

The aim of the Digital Ecosystem for E-Participation Linking Youth (DEEP-Linking Youth) project is to use e-participation as an instrument to foster young people’s empowerment and active participation in democratic life. The project will test the functioning of a digital ecosystem for youth engagement by bridging technology and young citizens on a common task with the aim of providing quality input into decision-making with a sustainable impact.

This will include mapping existing youth mobility channels, developing online content and creating different analytical tools to monitor the results. One of the main outcomes will be the ‘Digital Dashboard’, which policymakers will be able to use to understand the concerns of young people and take into account their perspectives in the policy-making process.

The implementation of the project is supported by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme (Key Action 3: Support for Policy Reform) and will be led by ECAS in partnership with:

Under its ‘Digital Democracy’ framework, ECAS will be leading the project and coordinating the consortium of seven partners through six stages:

  • Stage 1: Identification of digital influencers and our ‘digital champions’ in the fields of youth policy and learning mobility by mapping digital stakeholders.
  • Stage 2: Formulation and production of digital content and the creation of a beta version ‘Digital Dashboard’ which will test the digital content and aggregate real-time digital conversations on youth related topics, specifically on Erasmus and learning mobility.
  • Stage 3: Distribution and monitoring of the digital content on various existing digital platforms and networks (digital ecosystem). This is part of the development and implementation of the project’s Dissemination and Communication Strategy.
  • Stage 4: Empowerment of young people to create digital content from youth to youth. Two Boot Camps will be organised in Croatia and in Hungary where young participants will discuss the future of the Erasmus + program in view of their youth mobility experience and will learn how to create appealing digital content.
  • Stage 5: Engagement of policy-makers through two online chats with ‘digital champions’ and launch of the final version of the ‘Digital Dashboard’ in Brussels.
  • Stage 6: Publication of e-participation guidelines for policy-makers, recommendations on learning mobility and a final Social Intelligence report based on the two-year experience.
