Démocratie Ouverte (Open democracy) is a French non-profit organization that gathers democratic innovators (non-profit organizations, networks, media, start-ups…), researchers, elected representatives, local governments and citizens to make our democracy more transparent, collaborative and participative. Originally created to support the Open Government Partnership in Paris in 2014, Démocratie Ouverte has developed into a network of democratic innovators and engaged citizens in French-speaking countries. Since then, Démocratie Ouverte’s purpose consists in gathering, promoting, and supporting those who want to improve our democracy. After several years of working on how to realize a more open democracy, we have built a solid network of more than 500 members.
