The State of the Union Citizens’ Rights Conference is ECAS’s annual flagship event in its EU Rights focus area. It aims is to take stock of recent developments in the European Citizenship domain and to provide a forum for discussion of civil society, decision-makers and academics on ways to improve the EU Rights implementation and innovate EU Citizenship.
Given that 2024 is a particular year when the European Parliament elections will take place, the 2024 edition of the Conference will take place on March 19th and focus on how to foster political participation and improve the voting rights of EU citizens.
During a 4-hour interactive event, we will have the opportunity to hear about citizens’ thoughts and wishes about the elections, understand potential legislative changes and existing initiatives to boost the participation of under-represented citizens and exchange best practices for supporting youth in exercising their right to vote and motivating them to become more involved.
The Conference will take place in-person, participants are also welcome to join remotely.
