Yesterday ECAS participated in the international conference “Citizen Participation in Europe: From Citizen Involvement to Policy Impact”, organised by ProInfo in Sofia, Bulgaria.
This event was the U-Impact launch conference, follow-up of the JoiEU project. U-Impact is funded under the Europe for Citizens Program of the European Commission. Partners of the project are non-profit organizations active in promoting citizens’ participation at European level from Albania, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Italy, Romania, Spain, and Bulgaria.
The panelists included:
– Svetoslav Malinov, MEP;
– Petko Georgiev, Chairman of the Board, ProInfo Foundation;
– Iva Taralezhkova, Chairman of the Board, Forum Citizen Participation;
– Nadya Shabani, Programme Director, Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law;
– Sasha Bezuhanova, founder, MoveBG.
The partners of the project, NGO’s from Albania, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Italy, Romania and Spain were also activiely involved in the event.
Moderator of the conference was Petko Georgiev, Chairman of the Board, ProInfo Foundation.
