Last week, the first information days for the ‘Partnership Fund’, part of the PACT project, were held in Veliko Tarnovo, Varna, and Burgas. As part of the initiative, over 70 representatives of civil society organisations, cultural centres (chitalishta), and active local communities participated in the events to learn more about opportunities to support initiatives in favour of democracy and EU values.
The information meetings began on 28 April in Veliko Tarnovo, continued on 29 April in Varna, and concluded with high turnout on 30 April in Burgas. Each event presented the key parameters of the fund—its objectives, eligible activities, evaluation criteria, and the application process.
At each of the three events, Georgi Stoychev, Executive Director of the Open Society Institute – Sofia, emphasised the importance of the context in which future projects will be implemented and drew attention to upcoming strategic challenges and opportunities for the civil sector.
Participants also received expert support from representatives of the European Citizen Action Service (ECAS), who provided concrete guidance on developing strong project proposals and implementing sustainable projects with social significance.
The information days will continue in May with events in Pleven, Plovdiv, and Sofia. Registration for the events remains open here.
This Open Call is part of the project ‘Partnership among CSOs for making an impact on rights and values’ (PACT).
