Your Europe Advice Facebook Chat reaches 1.2 Million People

02 March 2018

On 26 February, legal experts from the Your Europe Advice service, which ECAS manages on behalf of the European Commission, took part in a Facebook chat on setting up a business in another EU country.

Over 2300 users followed the chat live, as experts from Your Europe Advice, and the European Commission’s Executive Agency for SMEs (EASME) and from DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (GROW) replied to a total of 66 questions over two hours.

Answers were provided in English, French, Italian, Polish, and Greek – however German, Bulgarian, Danish and Swedish also featured among the available languages. A grand total of 1.2 million users were reached (compared to last year’s 80.000 users).

The questions were of a practical nature and covered a range of different topics of interest for mobile EU citizens and businesses. Topics included requirements and formalities for setting up a business in another Member State, VAT issues, documentation, product requirements, and EU funding opportunities for start-ups and entrepreneurs.

YEA experts are regularly asked by the Commission to take part in its online chats about EU rights. For more information on past topics, stay tuned for an up-to-date log of YEA Facebook chats.
