Charter of European Citizenship

A Charter of European Citizenship was developed by ECAS in 2013, the European Year of Citizens. It brought together the scattered Treaty provisions addressing citizens in a more efficient and easy to understand way in order to help increase citizens’ awareness of their rights. The Charter also proposed a number of potential changes that could be made to the current conception of European citizenship in order to strengthen citizens’ rights.

The Charter exists in English, French, Greek, Lithuanian, Croatian and Maltese.
