From 29 – 31 May the Citizen Participation Forum will hold the following conference ‘Citizenship – Participation – Policies: Building Europe from Grassroots Up!’ at the Perito club in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event will be will be held under the patronage of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, and it will be hosted by ECAS, the European Civic Forum and Bluelink.
What tools can be used?
How can our voice be stronger?
How can the EU be closer to citizens and respond to their expectations more adequately?
What do we mean by e-democracy?
What opportunities does the European Citizens’ Initiative offer?
The issue of civic participation in a wider European context will be raised, not to mention the challenges that we all face as representatives of civil society organizations.
The event will present different perspectives and decision-making tools with citizens. It will provide a unique opportunity to bring together representatives of different organizations and share experiences and ideas to revive citizens’ decision-making processes.
representatives of the ECI/Commission and representatives of the European Agency for Fundamental Rights will take part in the event. They will present a report on the challenges for civil society organisations in the EU.
